Foundation Day Chief Guest-Dr Uday Gaonkar and Pooja performed by Mrs Geeta Sawant
Jan Utkarsh Shikshan Saunstha’s , Smt Chandrabhaga Tukoba Naik higher Secondary celebrated the 32nd foundation day with great fervency. This big day bestirred with auspicious Satyanarayan Katha and pooja ceremony followed by aarti and prasad. The main event held in the school hall started with students melodious lyrical performance welcoming the assemblage. The Principal Sir Vaman Bhadri escorted the dignitaries on the dais with great mirth and welcomed the gathering reminiscing successful completion of more than three decades.
Dr. Uday Gaonkar principal of Damodar higher secondary school Gudi was the chief guest and graced the occasion. Miss Beena Naik Desai introduced the chief guest, highlighting his achievements. All the dignitaris were florally welcomed. Since the day coincides with death anniversary of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, this great freedom fighter was also honoured. Dr Uday Gaonkar and other members present on the dais paid homage to Late Shri Pundalik Tukoba Naik, the great visionary and Tilak by garlanding their portraits.
Mrs Sridevi P.R. reflected upon the glory of CTN Higher secondary and significant advancement the school has achieved since its inception. Mr Swapnil Naik spoke on the life of Lokmanya Tilak highlighting his contribution in the field of education and journalism and contribution in the Indian Freedom struggle
Another significant component of foundation day was the release of yearly publication, ‘Utkarsh’ tiltled ‘Incredible India’ at the hands of the chief guest. The day also witnessed the achievement of XI std. students who were felicitated for their meritorious academic performance at the hands of chief guest.
The chief guests speech left an indelible impact on the minds of the audience. He applauded the vision of late Shri Pundalik Naik, the man who laid the foundation of this institution, for his contribution in the field of education. His stimulating oration helped students and teachers to imbibe the rich cultural values and inculcate environment related ethics through his unique way of use of konkani proverbs, story telling method, poetry recitation etc as highly alluring. In addition to this he also advised to continue to explore vast expanse of knowledge.
On the whole it was a prolific day. The programme was compered by Mrs Sukshma Kakodkar and vote of thanks was proposed by vice principal Shri Prallhad Dessai and the formal programme ended with singing of the National Anthem.
